I joined the Regot lab as a master’s student in September 2023. In my free time, I enjoy playing squash, going on hikes, and keeping different kinds of invertebrate pets. My current research focuses on how ERK and MAPK signaling in general regulate cell cycle and cytoskeletal components. The link between ERK signaling, cell cycle, and cell migration has been established that inhibiting ERK activity in cells also inhibits cell migration and proliferation. It is intriguing how changes in cells are sensed and regulated by ERK and other MAPK pathways. With techniques we are using such as live cell imaging, single-molecule imaging, biosensors, and CRISPR tagging, I am trying to understand the detailed functions and mechanisms of ERK signaling in cells.
